Prick of the Spindle partners with the Pensacola Little Theatre for our Outreach Initiative for Youth Drama
Competition

What: A drama competition, by adults, for youth. Grown-ups write it; kids see it.

One winning play will be selected from each category for production by the Pensacola Little Theatre's Beyond Boundaries program in the fall of 2010.

Submission Guidelines:

Target Audience AGE:
4-8 years

Target Audience AGE: 8-12 years

Target Audience AGE: 12 & up

Target Length: 30 minutes

Set: Minimal

Characters: Number should be minimal or contain as many interchangeable parts as possible (use up to 4 actors at most).

Focus: Story-driven

Theme: Fractured fairy tale with Halloween theme. Story needs to be contemporary, gripping, and can be whimsical and humorous.

Target Length: 30 minutes

Set: Minimal

Characters: Number should be minimal or contain as many interchangeable parts as possible (use up to 4 actors at most).

Focus: Story-driven

Theme: Fractured fairy tale with Halloween theme. Should be contemporary, fast-paced, and engaging.

Target Length: 30-45 minutes

Set: Minimal

Characters: Number should be minimal or contain as many interchangeable parts as possible (use up to 4 actors at most).

Focus: Story-driven

Theme: Should have Halloween theme and be fresh and contemporary; can be dark, use magical realism, and be Twilight-esque.

All submitters are required to sign a permission form allowing the Pensacola Little Theatre to produce the play on a one-time performance basis. Download form here and e-mail (signed) with attached submission to pseditor [at] prickofthespindle [dot] com.

The three winning plays and honorable mentions will have their plays published in a Kindle edition in the fall of 2010.
