Patience Can Wait
By Eric Mohrman

this
stuttering landscape

your staggered
speech

the ashen
striation
of stratus clouds

& the stammering
light
of the stars:

I’m
too drunk for any
of it

(& to
the well-wishers

we
promised nothing)
