+++COMPETITION CLOSED FOR JUDGING+++
Prick of the Spindle hosts its first ever Poetry Open, and here's why you should submit:
1. On the tails of the Fiction Open, funds from the Poetry Open continue toward helping Prick of the Spindle become non-profit, which means grants for the journal. And where there are grants, there is growth--which, for us, means future print issues, online workshops for writers, hosted readings, and the continued success of a journal that is truly dedicated to the arts.
2. It's only $5.
3. The grand prize winner; first, second and third prize recipients; and honorable mentions will be published in a signature print edition. Poetry Open winners and honorable mentions will receive a free copy of the edition, which will also be made available for purchase through the website. Additionally, the grand prize winner receives a framed photograph by Cynthia Reeser.
Guidelines.
To submit, send two poems of 160 lines or fewer to eweinstein (at) prickofthespindle (dot) com with "Poetry Open" typed in the subject line of your e-mail.
