The Boat
by Evan Daily

Once, our two bodies made one boat.

Propelled by your hair,
we sailed from cathedral
to cathedral. I swear
your hair was not only breeze,
but light.

Now when I sit at our beach,
we are all anchor.

We are lit up by sunrise,
empty, bobbing.
