Study in Burgundy
by Eric Mohrman

at least
you       don’t          have              to-
morrow

familiar
fledgling sunset en-
gine, groaning—

             gren-
         a-
      dine

skyscape—

[ver-]
million passers-by

at most
you     will          forget                to-
day

the
form-
ative fantasy, a
sun falls be-
neath
the brick-braced
rooftops

spring
’s fore-
gone second song—O the

            gamay! oh

only
the Beaujolais, only the

             Beau-
          jo-
       lais!
